Vehicle Protection Association
WHO WE ARE
The Vehicle Protection Association (VPA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering consumers with the tools and information they need to have a positive vehicle service contract experience.
As an industry watchdog, the VPA works to ensure accountability by monitoring service contract providers and promoting fair, transparent business practices.

Because informed consumers are key to a trustworthy marketplace, we've developed a variety of educational resources to help you better understand vehicle service contracts, how providers operate, and what to expect during the buying process.
VPA Gold Certification
VPA Gold-Certified marketing companies have successfully completed a rigorous third-party review, including on-site evaluations, call monitoring, and compliance checks, to ensure adherence to industry best practices.
For consumers seeking protection after their manufacturer’s warranty ends, choosing a VPA Gold-Certified company offers peace of mind—guaranteeing fair treatment and full compliance with federal and state regulations.
VPA Silver Certification

VPA Silver companies are member organizations that administer or finance vehicle service contracts sold by marketing companies. As Silver-level members, these firms have committed to following the VPA’s Standards of Conduct, which are specifically designed to safeguard and support consumers.
VPA Bronze Certification
VPA Bronze companies are marketing firms for vehicle service contracts that have agreed to follow the VPA’s Standard of Conduct—an ethical code that protects consumers and promotes integrity in the industry. Bronze membership is granted upon joining the VPA, with many companies working toward full Gold Certification.

MEMBERSHIPS
Consumers Standard of Conduct
The VPA Standards of Conduct serve as a unified ethical code for the entire vehicle service contract industry. Designed to help providers meet or exceed federal and state regulations, these Standards establish a foundation of integrity for both our members and the industry at large.
Covering key issues important to regulators and consumers alike, the Standards are a mandatory part of VPA membership. Members are also encouraged to go beyond these requirements by adopting additional practices that enhance consumer protection and strengthen their reputation as trusted, ethical providers.
